Knocking In Your Bat

  • 1Apply a light coat of bat oil to the face, edges, and toe of the bat.
  • 2Use a special bat mallet to gently knock in the bat for 4-6 hours (or 1000+ light strikes).
  • 3Start with light taps and gradually increase the force over time.
  • 4Pay special attention to the edges and toe of the bat.
  • 5After knocking in, lightly sand any raised grains with fine sandpaper.
